Wordpress self-hosted

Though my hosting supports one-click wp install, I decided to do it manually. Yes, I’m new to wp and still finding my way with it. The first time I got this error,

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/.wysiwyg/theknuts/blog.theknuts.com/wp-admin/includes/template.php on line 2033″

Yeah right, welcome me wordpress. Template.php probably has some issues. I tried to google for possible answers, parse error  is very common in wp I think, but can’t find an exact scenario. I might have made some mistakes during my first installation, so will try to install it the second time, but to my local server first for testing . I downloaded the tar file version of wp instead of the zip version which I used during my first installaltion. After going through the same process again. It worked!  hmm..
